On 31st, March 2021, I retired as the President of NIT, Sendai College. I would like to thank all the people whom I met during my term of 5 years. I will never forget the warm and kind treatment our delegation received when we visited overseas institutions that we have partnerships with. I can also recall the wonderful moments we spent together to learn each other’s culture, sharing dishes and drinks for mutual understanding.
We are now facing many global problems which require world-wide collaboration. As a result, the demand to nurture engineers who can be active internationally is increasing. It is my strong belief that the global relationships we have built will bring us fruitful results in the near future.
Regrettably, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, our international collaboration was very restricted last year. I believe, however, that this condition will not last forever. Humanity has wisdom to overcome such problems and has learned to support each other. I do hope that we will be able to resume the international collaboration which has been put on halt very soon under the new leadership of President Keisuke Sawada. NIT, Sendai College looks forward to keeping in touch with you.
